Chapter 610: She Won't Lose
Chapter 610: She Won't Lose
The announcer called for the start of the match and I held my breath, wondering how Odeta would deal with the archer.
The archer shot her arrow as quickly as she did the first time and I was expecting Odeta to be hit by it.
But then Odeta did something I did not expect as she raised her arms to protect her face before charging forward towards her opponent.
While the arrow did hit her, it only embedded itself in her arm and she barely reacted to the wound.
The archer panicked a little and tried to pull out another arrow in her quiver but it was too late as Odeta reached her before she could, the Amrap slamming herself into the poor Nekomata and sending her flying out of the arena in a single blow.
I was worried about that arrow in her arm when it fell out by itself, revealing that the arrow only penetrated the surface of her skin and it wasn't even that deep of a wound.
I realised that she had clenched her muscles so tightly that she managed to prevent the arrow from even doing that much damage. As expected of her I suppose.
The Amrap then turned to me and punched her fist into the air while letting out a roar of triumph.
Of course I clapped for her and she looked so proud of it too.
So cute~
It's just a shame that the maid uniform she was wearing hid those abs of hers or it would have made this ten times better.
Obviously the cheering coming from the crowd was rather muted since most of them did not want us to win.
Judging by Odeta's reactions, I doubt she minded it much since she was only looking at me the entire time.
The Yoblin looked at the last two slaves she had remaining on her team, both of them female with one being a Mahun and the other an Amrap.
She nodded at the Mahun first, the young woman seemingly taking a moment to steel herself before hefting the two axes she held in her hands and ascending to the stage.
Well... Seeing that Odeta was supposed to lose this round, I suppose it would be good publicity if she showed that even her Mahun slave could beat an Amrap in a one on one fight, maybe?
Although I felt the need to point out that Odeta was younger than the Mahun she was sending on the stage right now.
The announcer made sure both sides were ready before starting the match.
Ok, just lose this match Odeta and we can--
Odeta charged forward and delivered a snap kick to the Mahun's abdomen, the poor woman not even able to react at all before she got sent flying out of the stage.
The Mahun slave found herself collapsed on her haunches and looking all confused and disorientated. I don't blame her since I'm sure I would be in the same boat if I suddenly got kicked away before being teleported somewhere else.
The Yoblin was giving me a worried look but I gave her a shrug, showing that this was not what I planned for.
Odeta punched her fists into the air once more and let out a roar of victory.
"Ugh... It hurts to even watch..."
I have to agree with her on that point and patted her head idly.
The two Amraps continued to rain blows on each other without backing down and by now, both of them had rather nasty bruises on their skin though neither of them seemed to be slowing down in the slightest.
In fact, it even looked like they were speeding up and their blows were getting heavier and heavier.
Right now, every punch they threw was creating small shockwaves that shook the ground they were standing on, the tremors could even be felt from where I was standing.
Odeta let out a roar again and punched Miobre across the face, this time causing her to take a step to the side to steady herself.
Till now, neither of them had even taken a step out so seeing Miobre take a step was a pretty big deal.
Miobre recovered and tried to punch Odeta in the same way, but Odeta was prepared for it and barely reacted to the attack aside from a soft grunt.
Odeta then sunk her fist into Miobre's abdomen, the other Amrap collapsing on a knee from the blow.
She tried to do a half hearted swing from that position but barely managed to graze against Odeta's side before she fell on her side, breathing hard.
"I... I give..." She gasped, right before she was teleported outside the arena.
The announcer raised his hand, "And team sixty wins the match! They will be heading directly to the finals after this! But will they really win today's competition?! Place your bets before it's too late!"
Odeta turned back to me, ignoring the trail of blood that was rolling down the side of her lips to punch into the air in triumph, right before she sank to a knee on the stage.
Clearly she had also been on the verge of collapsing during the fight as well and only managed to stay up there through sheer determination.
I was about to rush onto the stage to start healing her but she was teleported outside before I could.
It seemed like some of her injuries were healed but not completely so I started casting my healing spells on her.
"Seriously, what was that, Odeta?" I asked, concerned for her.
"Wahaha! That was a challenge of strength! It's one of the things we do to test another sister's strength!"
"How did you even stay up there for so long? Those punches definitely hurt you more than you did to her!"
"Wahaha! Sister sent me up there didn't you? How could I do anything but bring back victory for you? I'm going to be the one that will protect Sister against everything so how can I lose in front of you?"
Ngghhh!! Why are you so cute?! Come here and let me pat you!! Ahhhh!! Actually, everyone come here and let me pat your heads!!
Ehehehe~ Pat, pat, pat~
This is real bliss~
