Chapter 2544: You’re Making Everyone Else Look Lazy!
Chapter 2544: You’re Making Everyone Else Look Lazy!
In the Alchemy Room, the pill fire roared, as Carson Flores sat cross-legged, fully focused on controlling the pill fire, while the medicinal liquid bubbled and rolled within it.
"Boom!"
The lid of the pill furnace flew off, and several sparkling elixirs shot out of the furnace, landing on a porcelain plate.
Carson Flores sighed in relief, "Someone, come here!"
Two pill apprentices walked in respectfully, separated the elixirs on the porcelain plate into bottles, and helped Carson clean up the aftermath of the alchemy.
Carson stood up and walked out of the room.
The maiden standing at the door respectfully said, "Master, during your alchemy session, Pill Master Fenwick James and Pill Master Ashvarn Butler came to visit. Upon hearing that you were alchemizing, they left, saying they would come to visit another day."
Carson responded with a simple acknowledgement, not holding the matter in much regard.
This was the Valentine Family Headquarters, which had recruited many elites from various fields, such as alchemists and artifact refiners, to produce magical treasures and elixirs for the Valentine family.
These people were akin to industry experts on high salaries hired by the Valentine family. Although they were part of the Valentine force and bore its mark, the Valentine family primarily sought to win them over as long as their skills could be utilized by the family members. Loyalty wasn’t a primary concern.
As long as the Valentine family existed, having entered their gates, would they dare to join other forces?
Do they not want to live?
Carson Flores came to the Valentine family and immediately requested the Hidden God White Jade Stem, precisely eyeing this kind of approach from the Valentine’s.
As long as he showcased enough capability, the Valentine family would be willing to offer sufficient benefits to win him over!
Such matters should be stated from the outset; otherwise, if you wait until you’ve joined and then try to negotiate, the other party may not readily agree.
Carson initially stated that he could forgo any compensation, willing to diligently refine elixirs for them, but he wanted the Hidden God White Jade Stem as his sole condition. Since they wanted to recruit him, would they dare decline his only term?
Carson’s estimation was not wrong. After showcasing his exceptional value by refining the challenging White God Pill, Cyprian Valentine agreed to request it from the Aarav family for him.
Carson had been residing with the Valentine family for three months, diligently focusing on alchemy each day, proving his capability with terrifying efficiency.
He had to demonstrate outstanding results to prove to Cyprian Valentine that he was undeniably valuable, ensuring that Cyprian would genuinely prioritize obtaining the Hidden God White Jade Stem for him.
Although Carson could await Halvyr Briggs and Lorvian Randall’s successful reorganization, he feared unforeseen changes. Besides, if he could achieve it himself, why accrue debts to others?
The Valentine family had supported many alchemists, including several formidable high-order alchemists, but none as competitive as Carson.
As Carson’s reputation grew within the Valentine family’s circle of alchemists, visitors gradually began arriving.
Their attitudes and intentions varied in these visits to Carson.
Carson avoided these visits whenever possible, unwilling to establish any ties. Too much interaction could potentially invite trouble.
He simply wished to quietly refine his elixirs and impress, so that once the Hidden God White Jade Stem was in his possession, he could mysteriously vanish.
Sitting on a chair in the courtyard, Carson pondered the three-month deadline, wondering if Cyprian Valentine would soon be visiting the Aarav family.
Should he take the opportunity to remind him, lest the matter be forgotten?
After all, such matters, when forgotten, would bring about a reluctant apology to handle next time, and it wouldn’t be wise to turn unfriendly over it, right?
After all, they were the Family Head, and he was merely a guest retainer.
As Carson mused, footsteps were heard, and the maiden returned with a white-haired elder following her.
This white-haired elder was Steward Howard of the Alchemist Garden, a high-order alchemist himself, supervising all the alchemists of the Valentine family. He had accompanied Cyprian Valentine to assess Carson originally.
Carson quickly rose from his chair and bowed his hands in greeting, "Steward Howard!"
Steward Howard smiled warmly, "Just finished alchemy?"
Carson smiled, "Yes, I just completed a batch of the White God Pill. They’re tidying up the pill furnace, so I’m taking this chance to rest a bit."
Steward Howard pointed at Carson, smiling, "You, there’s no need to work so hard. There’s plenty of time, let’s take it slow. Your pace makes the other alchemists look lazy."
Carson chuckled, looking unpretentious, "I just want to refine more elixirs to prove myself to the Family Head."
Steward Howard chuckled, "I’ve certainly noticed your effort and have praised you to the Family Head several times."
Carson bowed, "Thank you, Steward Howard, for speaking well of me!"
Steward Howard responded, "I’ve come to you for a matter..."
Carson readily said, "Please, Steward Howard, just instruct me!"
Steward Howard smiled, "The Family Head is planning to visit the Aarav family and needs an outstanding alchemist to accompany. The original choice was me, but I have some pressing matters, so I recommended you to the Family Head."
