Chapter 74 The Deal, Basic Intelligence
Chapter 74 The Deal, Basic Intelligence
As the carriage drew closer to the camp.
The more nervous Elor became.
Because Kane's ring wasn't buried in the wild, but in the camp.
Does this mean that Kane might not have discarded the ring?
Before even entering the camp, Elor saw several burlap sacks hanging at the camp entrance.
The sack was surrounded by a dense swarm of flies.
Immediately, a look of disgust appeared on Elor's face.
She already guessed what was inside.
As the carriage approached the camp gate, a faint stench wafted from the sacks hanging in the trees nearby, making Elor feel nauseous.
This camp was different from the one they had been in before. There was a protective ditch dug around the camp, and they had to cross a bridge to enter it.
As before, Elor simply tossed out a silver coin and prepared to drive the carriage into the camp.
But the guard waved the silver coins in his hand and said, "I want five."
Upon hearing this, Elor frowned slightly and tossed out four more silver coins.
The guards then allowed them to pass and slowly lowered the bridge.
The sight of dead bodies hanging from the trees reveals the fierce nature of this camp.
Just as the carriage entered the camp, Elor saw a guard walking over, pulling a rope. At the other end of the rope was a corpse covered by a sack, being dragged on the ground.
Then she noticed that Dorothy was pursing her lips, frowning, and glancing at the sacks every now and then.
Elor cautioned, "If you're not comfortable with it, then don't watch it."
She felt nauseous as she said this.
"The people here are so barbaric!" Elor said with a hint of disgust.
What's the difference between this act of simply displaying a corpse and that of a wild animal?
Dorothy covered her nose with her hand.
She had seen dead people, and even killed several of them with her own hands, but this smell was something she really couldn't stand.
How do the people in this camp survive here?
Kane really found a good place.
Dorothy grumbled inwardly.
At this point, the carriage was getting closer and closer to the location of the communication ring.
"Are we almost there?" Elor asked in a low voice.
Dorothy nodded; it was just ahead.
Da da da.
The camel's hooves made a constant thud as they trod on the muddy ground.
Dorothy raised her hand. "Stop."
Elor tightened the reins in his hands.
Dorothy looked at the tent in front of her and frowned slightly. According to the communication ring, Kane's ring was inside this tent.
"Is Kane inside?" Elor asked expectantly.
Dorothy simply shook her head.
"I'll go ask."
With that, she jumped out of the car and walked towards the tent in front of her.
Arriving at the tent, Dorothy stood outside and asked, "Kane? Are you in there?"
Swish!
The tent flap was flung open, and a fierce-looking, burly man stepped out. He glared menacingly at the outside, his gaze first lingering on Elor, then, realizing something, he slowly lowered his head and looked at Dorothy.
The burly man bent slightly and opened his mouth, exhaling a foul stench.
"Little girl, this is not a place to play around, get out of here."
Dorothy's expression remained unchanged; she simply pinched her nose. "I'm here to see Kane. Do you know where Kane is?"
"What Kane? He's probably long dead somewhere out there."
After saying that, the big man lowered the curtain and crawled back into the tent.
Dorothy, however, opened the curtain first and went into the tent on her own initiative.
The tent was fully equipped with various supplies, including a bed, a table, and stools. In the middle, there was an oven and a large pot, where some kind of meat was being cooked.
Lying on the bed was a scantily clad woman with a voluptuous figure.
There was no strange smell in the tent, only the aroma of cooked meat.
The big man immediately turned around when he heard the sound of the curtain being pulled open.
Upon seeing Dorothy follow in, she immediately roared angrily.
"You! Get out!"
As he spoke, he raised his hand and slapped Dorothy on the head.
Dorothy raised her hand, instantly blocking the slap and grabbing the other person's wrist.
"you!"
The burly man was both shocked and furious upon seeing this.
Dorothy applied a little pressure to her hand.
"Ah!" The big man instantly showed a pained expression and slowly knelt down.
At that moment, a magical glint flashed in Dorothy's eyes.
"A novice soldier..."
This is the strength of the burly man before us.
Through these days of training, Dorothy's magic level has reached 14, and her general magic level has reached 10.
Now you can use some simple magic application methods.
For example, magic power assessment can reveal how much magic power beings with lower magic power possess.
"Tell me, where is Kane?"
Dorothy's cold voice rang out from above the big man's head.
The burly man was now drenched in sweat from the pain, and he begged for mercy, "I don't know, I don't know, ah!"
Dorothy simply increased the pressure on her hands more slowly.
Just as she was about to break the big man's arm, the woman lying on the bed spoke.
"We've never had anyone named Kane here before."
Dorothy looked up at the woman, then with a flick of her wrist, threw the burly man, who was nearly exhausted, away.
"My name is Fischer," the woman introduced herself.
Dorothy raised her arm and pointed to Fisher's fingers resting on the window.
"The ring you're wearing belongs to Kane; he's been here."
Fisher looked down at the ring on his left middle finger with a surprised expression.
"I thought it was just some expensive magical items. If you mean that little guy, he traded this for some information with me."
Fischer raised his left hand to his eyes, turned his palm over, and admired the ring on his finger.
"I never expected this ring could attract such a cute little guy like you, though you have a bit of a temper."
As she spoke, she winked at Dorothy.
Dorothy asked directly, "What information?"
"Hehe, keeping employers' information confidential is basic common sense in our line of work. We won't reveal any information about our employers."
"Is that so?" Dorothy wasn't surprised.
However, she didn't believe that people in a place like this would follow any rules.
It's simply that we didn't appeal to their interests.
"In that case, I have no use for these things, so you can have them all." Dorothy said, taking out all the rings and tossing them to Fischer.
"Huh?" Fischer stared blankly at the four rings lying on the bed, his languid expression frozen in surprise.
She took the ring off her hand and compared it with the other rings.
"They really are the same."
At this point, Dorothy had already stepped one foot out of the tent.
Fisher quickly called out to Dorothy, "Wait!"
Only after seeing Dorothy stop did Fisher elegantly say:
"While I can't tell you about your employer, I can give you other information, provided you tell me what this ring is for."
Dorothy was somewhat surprised.
Fisher didn't even know the purpose of the ring.
"Didn't Kane tell you?"
Fisher shook his head.
Dorothy thought for a moment, then said, "Wait a minute."
As she spoke, she walked out of the tent, and returned a short while later, then flicked her hand.
Two more rings were left on the bed.
"..." Fischer looked at the rings lying on the bed and her eyelids twitched. She hadn't expected there to be so many rings.
Could it be that these magical items are actually quite cheap?
"Just tell me some basic information about the Gritwood Forest, and I'll teach you how to use this ring."
Dorothy put one hand on her hip and pointed to the ring.
