Chapter 281 Prophecy
Chapter 281 Prophecy
"Thank you for your kindness, but what exactly do you want to give me?"
"I have always been working hard for the future of mages."
The Abyss Mage began to speak to himself.
"Countless years ago, in order to escape the Goddess of the Demonic Net, I chose to fall into the abyss. You should know the rest of the story."
Jiang Shuzhou nodded. It was this senior who later merged with the will of the abyss and created the Abyss Cube. One of them ended up in Jiang Shuzhou's hands after Jiang Shuzhou defeated Griffith in Mahabray.
"Then you should know about that relatively ordered abyssal world."
"Yes, I've heard about it."
"Now, it no longer exists."
"?"
Jiang Shuzhou was taken aback. What do you mean by "no longer exists"?
"Do you think I'm the kind of person who would conduct an experiment without any preparation?"
"This thing is the wondrous artifact that maintains the order of that abyss world."
"Take it. Now that the mages are free, the abyss world no longer needs it to sustain itself."
The Abyss Mage used his mage's hand to hand Jiang Shuzhou a small cube.
"This is?"
Jiang Shuzhou could feel the endless power of order emanating from this tiny cube.
"The Order Cube, it can help you."
"Help me with what?"
"Its world allows you to create truth that transcends the unknown beyond, flesh and blood eternal."
The Abyss Mage's words became incredibly chaotic as the Cube of Order left his hand.
"Take it, remember, I am, Kendra."
Chaos engulfed the mage, and Kendra finally uttered his name, word by word, at the very end, as he faced his own demise.
The death of a mage can be twofold: physical death, which is insignificant to mages, and spiritual death, which is the true, conventional death.
Finally, there is being forgotten. This is true death, leaving no trace. No one will remember, and everything will return to nothingness.
Kendra, a mage from the past, threw himself into the abyss to break free from control. Now, he entrusts the spark of order born from chaos to Jiang Shuzhou, and then everything returns to dust.
Kendra's monstrous body rapidly weathered away, turning to ashes. The abyss portal became transparent and finally disappeared.
Everything seemed to have been as if nothing had happened, except for the small cube in Jiang Shuzhou's hand, which proved that what had just happened was not a hoax.
Looking at the cube in his hand, Jiang Shuzhou realized that Kendra was able to maintain his rationality entirely because of this cube.
A block that embodies the laws of order.
In theory, order is the most powerful force in all known worlds. It has the power to define all laws and establish all rules. Countless laws ultimately constitute order.
Apart from the law of chaos, all laws that can be controlled are part of order.
Order is the reason for the existence of the world; without order, everything will return to nothingness.
That being said, Jiang Shuzhou can't use this thing right now. He doesn't even understand ordinary laws, let alone something that's subtly above ordinary laws.
However, this did not prevent Jiang Shuzhou from researching and using it; there are countless ways to use the Order.
With this, Jiang Shuzhou's experiments may be able to begin again.
Wait a minute, Jiang Shuzhou suddenly thought of something.
prophecy.
One will fall into darkness, and the other will step into the light.
It sounds like Gus and Griffith.
But weren't Joan of Arc and Rosemary the same?
Joan of Arc became an upright priestess, while Rosemary fell into darkness, killing her own brother for power and even actively releasing the Abyss's corruption.
Even more so, Jiang Shuzhou and Kendra are the same.
Kendra is trapped in the abyss with no future ahead of him, while Jiang Shuzhou is a rising star with a long road ahead.
Classic metaphors, prophecies, and riddles as always.
No wonder those sorcerers are always talking nonsense, chanting all day long that everything is a matter of fate.
Jiang Shuzhou felt like he'd been tricked after experiencing it once; those mages experienced it every day, no wonder they were like that.
Jiang Shuzhou immediately decided that he would try to use prophecy magic as little as possible in the future, as this thing was too sinister.
Soon, time began to flow again.
"Don't just stand there, Master Navier, let's go quickly."
Trank and Morris seemed oblivious to everything, and simply pulled Jiang Shuzhou along, ready to leave.
"What's the rush?"
"Yeah, why are we in such a hurry? There's no Abyss portal here."
Morris paused, then fell silent.
"Alright, let's go. Regardless of whether there's an Abyss portal or not, it's better to get back quickly."
"Too."
Afterwards, the group quickly left and headed to their base.
During this time, the Order Block behaved like an ordinary transparent glass block, without any fluctuations.
As a gust of wind blew by, the ashes left by Kendra were scattered in all directions.
"Hehe, the air is so sweet! The people here must be so much fun!"
A large group of demons passed by here.
"Prepare to die!"
The Royal Guard faithfully performed their duties, fighting the demons here.
Apart from Jiang Shuzhou, no one knew that this was the place where the legendary mage Kendra died.
A demon seized the opportunity, launched a sneak attack, and ripped the head off a guard.
With a soft "splatter," blood splattered.
"You will definitely pay the price!"
The blade pierced the body, and the demon's head was chopped off, its entire body turning into a pool of pus.
Everything was buried in blood and death.

The Mage Alliance is located within the territory of the Ovi Empire.
"My lords, you have finally arrived."
Pilates looked flustered. Jiang Shuzhou and the others were able to remain calm because their real bodies weren't there. But Pilates was different; he was going there in his physical body, and if he died, he would truly be gone.
"What's wrong? Why are you in such a panic?"
Jiang Shuzhou was very dissatisfied with this behavior. He looked around in a flustered manner, which was quite improper.
How can such behavior reflect the great power spirit of our Mage Alliance?
"My lord, the Abyss has invaded!"
"I know, so what?"
"What do we do?"
"Just stay where it's cool and wait for things to pass."
Jiang Shuzhou curled his lip, completely unconcerned.
After all, it was Rosemary who did it herself, so she definitely has the ability to suppress it. Besides, there are 42 legends here. If they can't handle it, then Jiang Shuzhou's efforts will be useless.
"But……"
"Stay put and behave yourself. This is Caesar City, and the Empire has its own people in charge. Don't worry about these trivial matters."
Pilates was about to say something when Jiang Shuzhou interrupted him.
"If even the Empire can't do anything, what do you think you can do?"
Pilates fell silent.
