Chapter 140: Chaos Race: Checkpoint 1
Rin and Erix entered the gates with others and arrived on a huge floating barren island in a bright world with two suns. It was completely flat with soil and just littered with rocks.
Below the island was a blanket of ocean where their eyes could see, and the island was covered in a spherical barrier, preventing people from leaving.

Everyone saw huge letters in the sky before they got information about the event.

-An event spanning five checkpoint races. Each next checkpoint will be revealed only once you pass the current checkpoint.
—> Checkpoint 1: There are five hundred Golden Turtles deep in the ocean below, and the checkpoint gate is five kilometers high in the sky above the floating island. Kill the turtle, earn a Turtle Shell on your back, and enter the checkpoint gate. Only five hundred participants wearing the turtle shell may pass.
If the turtle shell is attacked by another participant, it will transfer to that participant.

_Rules:
—> You can collect Chaos Gadgets by destroying Chaos Beacons that would randomly spawn during the race. Chaos Gadgets can be used to store an active skill, and only they would hurt other participants. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to hurt other participants, be it any other means. You can also buy Chaos Gadgets using Chaos points.
—> Every ten seconds during the race, X-number of chaos monsters would spawn. X = number of participants. Killing chaos monsters would grant you Chaos Points, which can be used during the 10-minute break after each checkpoint race.
--> Chaos Beacons wouldn't spawn in the first checkpoint race.

A group of one hundred men wearing a dark green crystalized armor-sets arrived. Some had worn leather armor, some had worn light metal, and some had heavy armor, but all of their designs had green crystalized patterns and designs.
"This event is held by Lord Amber Jaw, the guild leader of Savage Maw House! The first place will be one of us, and if you dare to get in our way, you must get ready to be buried six hundred feet under the abyss!"

"I can see that," Marco turned to his left and saw a woman with a nun outfit and red eyes. The two fangs on her mouth and a pair of arched pointed ears indicated that she was a pure-blooded vampire.

"It looks like we might have a dark horse in this."
"As long as the winner is not from Savage Maw, I am fine," a middle-aged man wearing a gentleman tuxedo suit said as he killed a turtle with a swift strike of his rapier. A pure human with a level 2 Light affinity and level 2 Pierce Concept.
This powerhouse was one feared by almost all peak Noble-order powerhouses in the Inner Domain.
A deadly assassin with 100% kill rate of peak Noble-order powerhouses and even having a record of killing a newly ascended Royal-order powerhouse.

"Go and ascend already, old man," spoke a muscular black-haired dwarf man wearing a black and white karate-like outfit as he chopped at a turtle with a pitch-black burning fist, cleanly cutting the turtle into two.

Gentle Death narrowed his eyes upward before a burst of golden light shone from him, and he shot out of the ocean with a beam of golden light.
He entirely ignored Lex and left.
On the other hand, Erix and Rin had arrived before the checkpoint gate by teleporting, and that was also the time when chaos monsters spawned around the checkpoint gate.
Rin and Erix were startled. They didn't think the chaos monsters would all spawn around the gate.

"Rin entered inside after transforming into her Lightning Elemental form for a brief moment as she arrived among five chaos monsters and spun after reverting to her human form.
Her shining and sleek blade condensed with neon lightning released a circular wave of lightning, instantly killing surrounding chaos monsters.
Erix also arrived, unleashing a five-meter huge energy Whirling Punch from his Whirling Fan Gauntlets that killed six chaos monsters.
Each chaos monster gave 100 Chaos points each.
Without resting, Rin and Erix killed a few more before several hundred attacks soon shot towards the gate. The owners of those attacks had only one intention.

A countdown of 2 minutes also appeared in the sky since all five hundred turtles were killed.
However, these people who got turtle shells were trying their best to run and defend their turtle shells from those who couldn't get them.
"We are done. Let's go before someone hits our turtle shells."
Erix and Rin quickly teleported to the Checkpoint gate and entered inside.
After a skirmish that lasted two minutes, and a small amount of turtle shells changed owners, the first checkpoint race was finally finished as five hundred winners arrived at the second checkpoint area, which also marked the start of true death race as participants would be able to hurt each other using Chaos Gadgets starting second race.
